Financial Policy

Addante Chiropractic, PC operates as a self-pay clinic.
Payment is due at the time of service.

At Addante Chiropractic, PC  we strive to provide high quality health care at a reasonable cost. We have structured our fees to that end to help you afford the care that you need. Unfortunately, health insurance reimbursement is generally not sufficient to even meet our costs. Therefore, we do not participate in any health insurance networks. And while we treat Medicare beneficiaries, we do not participate in the Medicare program. And in Colorado, the Medicaid program does not include chiropractic benefits.

Out-of-network Chiropractic and Acupuncture services may or may not be covered by your insurance plan.  Please check with your insurance prior to your visit.  Our office does not bill your insurance directly (except for Medicare) but we can give you a receipt for services, which you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Why We Do Not Accept Insurance Assignment

Some of our patients have asked us why we do not bill insurance directly. While we fully understand the financial challenge this presents to some patients we have chosen not to participate in health insurance networks directly for the following reasons:

  • A participating provider must agree to accept the fees the insurance company establishes, regardless of whether the fees are reasonable or applicable to that practice, especially chiropractic, functional neurology, and acupuncture. In general, these established fees cover only the actual cost of the briefest (and we believe, the lowest quality) care. Because we take the time to provide the service you need and deserve, insurance reimbursement generally does not even cover our costs.
  • Doctors who are participating providers with an insurance company are required to accept discounted fees for their services and the clinic must write off the difference, often as much as fifty percent or more of the doctorʼs fee for service. Our office cost to provide high quality care has increased dramatically over time, making this a very difficult situation.

Ironically, some of our patients complain about their extremely brief office visits in other medical practices, while at the same time expressing frustration that we do not accept their insurance. Unfortunately, we have found that we cannot stay in the insurance networks and provide the time-intensive, well-researched, expert care that you will get at Addante Chiropractic, PC.

Medicare

We do not participate in the Medicare program. Payment is due at the time of service, but we will bill Medicare for you. You will be reimbursed for covered services (which currently, is only spinal manipulation) directly from Medicare. Any non-covered services will be sent from Medicare to your supplemental insurance, and you will be reimbursed according to the terms of that insurance policy. So, you have the full extent of your Medicare and supplemental insurance benefits, but you will be reimbursed rather than us.

Auto Accidents and Personal Injury

We may accept insurance assignment in auto accident and personal injury cases. We will do so on a case by case basis only after a thorough review of the pertinent coverages.

Why We Sell Nutritional Supplements and How We Price Them

We often recommend nutritional supplements and homeopathic remedies, as well as dietary and lifestyle modifications, as an integral part of your treatment plan. This approach is central to the well-researched and science-based practice of functional medicine, which we have studied extensively. As a service to our patients we carry pharmaceutical grade nutritional supplements that available only to licensed health care professionals, and are not available to the general public. With a few exceptions, we do not sell nutritional products that are widely available over the counter. We purchase high-quality products from the top nutritional research laboratories in North America and Europe, and we price them to cover our costs of providing them.
